Brothers Pizza, located at 201 Reservoir Street in Needham, closed after 27 years of business on Friday, June 30, according to Yelp and multiple Facebook reports.

The pizzeria offered gourmet pizzas, calzones, and pasta dishes, as well as an array of sandwiches and entrees.

It was known for going "the extra mile," according to Yelp reviewers.

"Brothers Pizza does it right," wrote one Yelp reviewer. "They treat their customers like family. This kind of customer service is not done anymore and is hard to find these days."

The eatery was beloved by its community, including Neeham firefighters.

"We would like to take a moment to give our thanks and appreciation to Brothers Pizza," the Needham Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post. "Joanne and Demos have always been strong supporters of the department and have fed us on a daily basis... We will miss Joanne and Demos but wish them well in their future endeavors!"

Liz Meagher Cooper, a Needham mom, got a special note with a pizza she ordered in Brothers Pizza's last few days of business.

"Thank you for all the memories," read a message inside the pizza box's lid.

The restaurant auctioned off its pizza ovens, grills, dough mixer, and other equipment for "pennies on the dollar" after its closure.

"Needham is losing a true gem, great pizza, and even better people," wrote Cooper in a farewell post to the restaurant.
